Why do I have a drumming sound in my ears?
Dear Sir or Ma'am, In order to answer your question, I must first begin with a follow-up question for you: Is the "drumming sound" constant and, more importantly, in rhythm with your heartbeat? If the "drumming sound" is in rhythm with your heartbeat, it could mean that you have a blocked carotid artery which requires immediate medical attention. Call your physician immediately and report your symptoms. The last patient I saw with a similar symptom was sent by their physician to the hospital for imaging and the result was a carotid artery blockage of 85% requiring surgery.
