In practice since 2002, Dr. Metzger takes pride in the long-term relationships he builds with his patients and their families. It is his goal to provide the highest quality dental care in a personal and comfortable atmosphere.
To date, he has participated in three dental mission efforts in Honduras. He is on the initial dental team for Mission Health Dental Clinic in Fort Worth, a free dental clinic affiliated with White’s Chapel Methodist Church. He is also on the dental staff for the Texas Mission of Mercy dental clinic, providing free dental services to patients in Dallas and Houston.
A native Texan, Dr. Metzger grew up in Hurst. Upon graduating with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of North Texas, he went on to embark on his dental career. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1988.
Holding membership status with a number of professional organizations, he is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, CEREC Doctors, the Fort Worth District Dental Society, and the Texas Dental Association.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
When he is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Metzger enjoys fishing, hunting, and attending MLB games. He is a Lifetime member of the National Eagle Scouts Association.
Happily married to his hometown sweetheart, Melanie, since 1983, he and his wife have two children, Kyle and Stephanie.
