Furthering his expertise, he pursued a fellowship in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery at Bassett Healthcare, an institution affiliated with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. This specialized training, completed in 2017, honed his proficiency in intricate spinal procedures, contributing to his holistic approach to patient care.

From November 2018 to July 2020, Dr. Frimpong assumed the esteemed role of Clinical Faculty in Neurological Surgery at the University of North Dakota Medical School. During this tenure, he imparted his wealth of knowledge to aspiring medical professionals, further solidifying his commitment to education and mentorship in the field of neurosurgery.

Neurosurgery is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and extra-cranial cerebrovascular system. Neurosurgeons are doctors who diagnose and treat problems with the nervous system, often by performing surgery on the brain or spine. They treat strokes, tumors, cervical and lumbar disc disease, infections, and head or spinal cord injuries.
