Yu-Tze Ng, MBBS, is the division chief for pediatric neurology at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Professor of Pediatrics (with Tenure) at Baylor College of Medicine and serves as the inaugural Chair Holder for the Gary Dudley and Charlie Amato Chair in Pediatric Neurology.

 

Dr. Ng earned his medical degree from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He completed fellowships in epilepsy and pediatric neurology at the University of Texas-Houston Medical School. Dr. Ng completed his pediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospitals of Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatricians) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Epilepsy Society. He is board certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology and has additional board certifications in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy.

 

Dr. Ng has published more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, commentaries and book chapters. His areas of expertise predominantly involve various treatments of epilepsy with the latest drug and surgical therapies. His areas of expertise include: Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, (neurosurgery for) status epilepticus, antiepileptic drugs and hypothalamic hamartomas. Most recently his interest is in optimizing the quality of life for children with epilepsy by minimizing their restrictions. Dr. Ng was a former President (now CFO) of the Southern Pediatric Neurology Society served on the Scientific Review Committees for the CNS, was nominated for The Councilor of the South, CNS 2016. He was on the Scientific Review Committee and is currently on the Annual Course Committee for the AES and is on the Child Neurology and Epilepsy Sections of the AAN. He is on the Texas Pediatric Neuroscience Steering Committee. Dr. Ng was an Associate Editor for Pediatric Neurology and the Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health. He has been a peer reviewer for many prestigious journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine.  He won the Department of Pediatrics Outstanding faculty Teaching Award to Pediatric Education at the University of Oklahoma, 2013, A.B. Baker Teaching Award, from the American Academy of Neurology and the “Most Likely to Turn Heads” Superstar Faculty Teaching Award at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio in 2016.
