  • How should I sleep to relieve lower back pain?

I am a huge fan of sleep as a tool for recovery and in turn helping with pain. So I don't like messing with how people sleep. The biggest determinant of pain while trying to sleep rarely has anything to do with positions or mattresses but more due to what our activity looks like before bed. Most people watch tv in less than ideal postures for a couple of hours right before bed. You can still do so but try a little mobility routine something as simple as a cat/cow before bed and this should reduce the pain and discomfort when waking up or trying to fall asleep. READ MORE

  • Is going to the chiropractor 3 times a week too much?

Typically, if you are at the beginning of a treatment plan or have a tight window to get someone better before a trip/sporting event this is common. Long term, IMO it is not necessary. Find someone that's eventual goal is to see you further and further between appointments. As far as safety goes for seeing a chiropractor 3x/week there are no real causes for concerns other than your checkbook. READ MORE

  • Can hanging straighten your spine?

I can provide the relief of decompressing the spine. If the hanging is active such as hanging from a pullup bar, you will get more benefit than an inversion table. The active way will allow your muscles to adapt and strengthen your spine in its natural position. Inactive hanging will just go back to letting gravity work against you. READ MORE

  • Can you see a chiropractor for wrist pain?

Absolutely, there are lots of things a chiropractor can do for wrist pain. I would however avoid a chiropractor that will only adjust your wrist. Providing strengthening exercises will give you the best bang for your buck. READ MORE

  • What exercises help herniated discs?

That is a very dependent question. It greatly depends on the degree of herniation or direction of herniation. In our office, we do a movement evaluation to determine what the best exercise is. A large majority of our patients need extension in their low back or doing a cobra-type exercise to relieve some pain. READ MORE

  • How long does it take for a pinched nerve in the neck to heal?

Should take about 2 weeks before you get great results. I suggest finding a chiropractor that focuses on movement as their treatment. Look for chiropractors that say they are "functional" or certifications in Mckenzie Therapy for the best results. READ MORE

  • Is ice or heat better for neck pain?

All the research shows that the best results come from a patient preference for pain relief when it comes to ice vs. heat. So, if you like heat choose heat. If you like ice choose ice. READ MORE

  • Can chiropractors adjust feet?

Absolutely! We find lots of joint restrictions in feet and can be a huge contributor to helping you get better. READ MORE

  • Is chiropractic treatment safe?

Yes, chiropractic is safe. All chiropractors should do a thorough assessment before performing any treatment. This ensures that any red flag conditions have been ruled out that would maybe higher risk. At our office, we go through a movement assessment, neurological exam, and then perform orthopedic exams before providing any treatment. We also usually prescribe one exercise the first visit as a baseline before we start actual treatment the next visit. READ MORE

  • Should I stretch before seeing a chiropractor?

At our office, it is not necessary to stretch before you come to see us. We often pair exercises that we think will give the best results along with their treatment. READ MORE

  • Can a chiropractor or massage therapist help with migraine headaches?

Yes, we can help greatly with headaches. We are specially trained in diagnosing and treating migraines and other headaches. READ MORE

  • Can chiropractic adjustments cause nerve damage?

There is extensive research out there proving that chiropractic is a very safe treatment for individuls. All chiropractors should perform a thorough exam to make sure that each patient is in the right place before treatment begins. The exam should include a neuro exam to ensure there could be no risk of damage. READ MORE
