Harvard and Hopkins-trained, board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician Julie Huang-Lionnet, MD, is recognized nationally as an eminent scholar and leader in her field. She and her team provide innovative and personalized treatments for her patients at her state-of-the-art practice, Greenwich Health, which serves Manhattan, the Greater New York City communities, and Fairfield County including Greenwich, Westport, and New Canaan.
Dr. Huang-Lionnet has an incomparable record as an exceptionally compassionate and caring doctor to her patients. Dr. Huang-Lionnet is also a distinguished expert with certifications in regenerative, cosmetic, and venous medicine.
Dr. Huang-Lionnet began her career as a recipient of the National Institute of Health (NIH) M.D., Ph.D. Scientist Training Grant at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles. She graduated with Distinction while concomitantly obtaining her MBA with Honors through the Medical Leadership program at UCLA Anderson School of Management in 2009. After working on research projects with leading universities across the country, she completed post-graduate residency training in Anesthesiology as part of the Clinical Research Scientist Track at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
During her time at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Huang-Lionnet served as a medical officer at the FDA in drug, device, and biological regulatory review, with the aim to understand how to bring healthcare advances to the patient’s bedside. Dr. Huang-Lionnet went on to complete her Interventional Pain fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Huang-Lionnet’s accomplishments place her at the forefront of her profession, and she continues to carry out research to further improve treatment options in her fields.
Dr. Huang-Lionnet is driven by the passion to improve overall health and wellness of her patients coupled with her desire to improve access to leading, evidence-based treatments for her patients at every stage of their life. At Greenwich Health, Dr. Huang-Lionnet provides a comprehensive program that addresses all her patients’ needs using a multidisciplinary approach to ensure optimal outcomes. She continues to be involved in clinical trials with research interests in neuromodulation, regenerative medicine, biologics, drug discovery, minimally invasive technology development, sports medicine, and venous disease.
Respected as a leader amongst her peers, Dr. Huang-Lionnet has been invited to share her research and clinical experience at conferences around the country and the world. She has served on the Board of Directors (first female pain physician to serve) and Chair of the Women in Neuromodulation Executive Committee for North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS). She currently serves as Editor for NANS, Associate Faculty for the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and Reviewer for leading journals in her field while also investing her time to several medical organizations and causes on a national and international level.
