Dr. Patrick DiGenova, MD, a native of northern New Jersey, earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland, College Park. After graduating from medical school at St. George’s University, Dr. DiGenova completed his Psychiatry Medical Residency from the New York Medical College at Metropolitan Hospital in Manhattan, where he served as chief resident. He went on to train in an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel where he currently holds a faculty appointment. Additionally, Dr. DiGenova is an Attending Psychiatrist at Jersey City Medical Center with RWJ Barnabas Health.
While training in New York City, Dr. DiGenova gained the extensive clinical experience needed to help with prevention, treatment and recovery of both primary and dual diagnosis psychiatric conditions. Dr. DiGenova’s specialty clinical interests include: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, substance dependence and behavioral addictions. Dr. DiGenova is also certified with the American Academy of Psychodynamic Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis and is a member of various professional organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association. He has authored and published case reports and is an advocate for patient safety and mental health awareness.
