Regarding her educational background, Dr. Wallach graduated with her medical degree from the University of Sydney in 1974. She served her internship and residency, specializing in internal medicine, at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and specialized in hematology at The Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney and then the University of California, San Diego where she completed her fellowship in hematology and medical oncology. After 11 years in Boston, where she was affiliated with Harvard Medical School at the New England Deaconess and Baptist Hospital, she returned to practice in La Jolla.
With over five decades of experience, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Wallach is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).
