She then obtained her medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in 1999, after which she went on to further her training. She served her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in nephrology at the University of South Florida Affiliated Hospitals in 2002 and 2004, respectively.
A member of the Sarasota County Medical Society, she is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
