An American College of Surgeons Fellowship-trained, advanced general surgeon and surgical oncologist, Dr. Singhal is passionate about caring for the whole- person and  determines  best treatment plans  in partnership with her patient’s wishes and goals. She offers personalized attention through all stages of a patient’s surgery care using the latest in techniques and technology in order to minimize recovery time and maximize surgery effectiveness.

As the Founding Director of the El Camino Hospital Cancer Center in Mountain View, California Dr. Singhal also balances a thriving private practice  specializing in surgical oncology and advanced general surgery.

 Determined to make every day a more positive experience for persons  recovering from cancer treatment  she launched Hope & Beauty MD to encourage self-care in both the body and mind with non-toxic products that promote faster recovery times and a more optimistic self-image.

This San Mateo, California native received her undergraduate degree in Biophysics at Johns Hopkins University, attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York where she completed her M.D. program. In addition, receiving a Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology, her surgical residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, is one of the nation’s top surgical training programs. 

Upon completion of her surgical residency, Dr. Singhal decided to elevate  her knowledge  of molecular pharmacology of cancer medications with a clinical specialty in surgical oncology. She subsequently completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at the City of Hope National Cancer Center, a leader in Minimally Invasive Surgical Oncology (MISO). Her research focused on discovering the interactions of chemotherapy and a wide spectrum of natural agents, and the impact on liver function.  

“My education and training have brought me to the forefront of the field, and I’m committed to providing my patients with the highest-quality surgical treatment available.  But I am equally committed to my patients as people, so I strive to provide a balance between the medical and personal sides of care” expressed Dr. Singhal.

Committed to excellence, Dr. Singhal is board-certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, she is an active member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncologists, Alpha Omega Alpha (MD honor society), and Harkins Society-University of Washington.

General Surgery: surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. 

Surgical Oncology:  is the branch of surgery applied to oncology. It focuses on the surgical management of tumors, especially cancerous tumors. A surgical oncologist removes the tumor and nearby tissue during surgery. In addition they also perform certain types of biopsies to help diagnose cancer.

As a general surgeon and surgical oncologist with over 20-years of medical experience,             Dr. Singhal has been amazed by  patients’ will power and encourages them to cultivate the inner-strength needed to tolerate and overcome chemotherapy throughout their lives.  She has developed a multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment that involves not only chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery but working closely with patients to focus on wellness & self-care methods for the treatment of their bodies and minds during and after the chemotherapy process.

More recently, she has been involved in medical device startups and digital health. She serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Cyrcadia Health, the manufacturer of the Smart Bra. She is also the Primary Investigator for several clinical trials, including a BioBank with the Canary Center at Stanford. Developing Cancer Support Program specializing in Education, Wellness, and Self-Care.
