Dr. Rovaris, fondly known as Dr. Jill, is a licensed psychologist with over 35 years of leadership experience in the fields of College Student Health. 

At UCSF Student Health and Counseling Services, Dr. Jill holds the roles of Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Academic Affairs and Executive Director of Student Health and Counseling Services. She is steadfast in her student advocacy and commitment to inclusive, holistic, and equitable health care for all populations. 

Dr. Jill’s educational journey comprises a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Xavier University, a Master of Arts Degree from the Management Development Program at Harvard Graduate School of Education, a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Alliant International University, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Concerned about caring for the whole person, Dr. Jill comes to UCSF from Santa Clara University where she served as the Director of Health and Counseling. There, she managed and oversaw the operations and the integration of services of the Cowell Center, which includes Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health Services (SHS), Student Health Insurance Services, and Santa Clara University Emergency Medical Services (SCUEMS).

Psychology is the science of behavior and mind. It includes the study of conscious and unconscious phenomena, as well as feeling and thought. It is an academic discipline of immense scope. Psychologists assess, diagnose, and treat the psychological problems and behavioral dysfunctions resulting from, or related to, physical and mental health.
