Specializing in hospital medicine, Dr. Mohanty is a skilled internist within the Department of Medicine, Division of General Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Department of Medicine provides a range of clinical services, including general internal medicine and all of the subspecialties of internal medicine, from cardiology and gastroenterology to infectious diseases and rheumatology. In addition to delivering clinical care across a growing network, the Department is engaged in leading-edge biomedical research to help better understand and treat a variety of health conditions. 

Growing up in Los Angeles, Dr. Mohanty completed his undergraduate training at California State University Los Angeles. He regularly spent time with family in rural India during his upbringing, and was frequently stricken by his family’s medical challenges in low-income and resource-limited settings. This was his initial inspiration to pursue a career in medicine with a focus on global health. 

After earning his Medical Degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2016, Dr. Mohanty went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at Mather Hospital in New York. During this time, he played multiple roles in global health initiatives in Guatemala, Haiti, and Zambia. 

With a determination to pursue a career in global health, Dr. Mohanty completed the Global Health Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Through this fellowship, he developed relationships with the Botswana Harvard Partnership and Scottish Livingstone Hospital in Molepolole, Botswana. 

Working towards better health, the doctor is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Massachusetts, Dr. Mohanty is affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Needham, and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Plymouth.

Since 2019, he has been serving as an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Mohanty is an active member of the Society of General Internal Medicine and the Society of Hospital Medicine.
