With a broad educational background, Dr. Mecca received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado, and graduated with his medical degree from the SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine in 2000. He then went on to further his education by completing a residency in diagnostic radiology at the Albany Medical Center in 2005, and a fellowship in neuroradiology at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in 2006. Early in his practice, Dr. Mecca developed interest and expertise in breast imaging and has spent the bulk of his career in this subspecialty.
An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.
