We are proud to announce that Dr. Callis has opened her own Rheumatology practice in Florence, Kentucky. She is accepting new patients and is happy to offer Tele-medicine and in-office visits. Dr. Callis attended the University of Kentucky for undergraduate and medical school where she advanced each year with high distinction, was inducted into AOA, and created the Student Volunteer Center. She then completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Rheumatology Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis in 2011. While at Washington University she became a contributing author to the Washington Manual Rheumatology Subspecialty Consult Series and reviewer of several medical textbooks.
Dr. Callis has been practicing Rheumatology for the last 9 years in Oregon and has recently moved back home to Kentucky to be near her family. Her special interests include Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, crystalline arthritis, and extra articular autoimmune diseases. Dr. Callis is a multiple recipient of the patient elected “My Doc Rocks” award from “Arthritis Today” magazine.She believes that educating patients about their disease and their medications promotes better clinical outcomes and fosters a collaborative relationship with the patient and assists them to make more informed medical decisions.
In her free time, she enjoys a variety of arts and crafts, gardening, college basketball (Go UK), spending time with her husband Jerrod, her dog and cats, and is a published poet.
