A board-certified general surgeon specializing in robotic general surgery and surgical oncology, Dr. Sabido has been in private practice in Staten Island, New York since 1997. 

He performs various types of procedures such as scarless minimally invasive surgery, including single-site robotic cholecystectomy, robotic colon surgery, robotic inguinal hernia repair, robotic anti-reflux surgery, robotic hiatal hernia repair, robotic gastrectomy, and robotic abdominal wall hernia repair. 

Licensed to practice medicine in New York and New Jersey, he is the System Director for the General Surgery Robotics Program at CarePoint Health Bayonne Medical Center; the Director of MIS and Robotic Surgery & the Program Director of the Advanced GI/MIS Surgery Fellowship at Richmond University Medical Center; the Director of Robotic Surgery at miVIP Surgery Centers; an Affiliate of Mount Sinai Hospital; and the Director of the Center for Robotic Surgery at Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center. A graduate of the prestigious seven-year Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, and the New York University Grossman School of Medicine accelerated Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Medicine program, Dr. Sabido went on to further his education. He performed his residencies in general surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and Staten Island University Hospital.

A Master Surgeon in Robotic Surgery, the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Sabido is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the American Hernia Society Quality Collaborative, and the Clinical Robotic Surgery Association.

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease.
