Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Andrew D. Pansick, who serves patients in Dallas, Texas.

A passionate ophthalmologist, Dr. Pansick is the Founder of Pansick Ophthalmology in Dallas, Texas. His clinical interests include cataract surgery, comprehensive ophthalmology, degenerations of the cornea, dry eyes, infection and inflammation of the ocular surface, and refractive surgery.

Interested in resident and fellow education, Dr. Pansick joined the faculty at UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2022, serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology. He also serves on the Peer Oversight Review Committee at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

After earning his Medical Degree from UT Southwestern Medical School, Dr. Pansick completed a residency in ophthalmology at Nassau University Medical Center in New York, where he was Chief Resident. He then gained advanced training in cornea and external eye diseases through a fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Pansick is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The ABO is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (FAAO), he is an active member of the Dallas Academy of Ophthalmology, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.

In his professional journey, Dr. Pansick has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals covering his areas of clinical interest. He credits his success to a commitment to continuous learning, ensuring he can provide the best care for his patients. Additionally, he acknowledges the invaluable support of exceptional mentors and teachers who invested in him and facilitated his excellent education.

When he is not at work, Dr. Pansick enjoys spending time with friends and family, including his dog and cat, and supporting Texas sports teams – especially the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Mavericks.
