Dr. Torgerson is a board-certified, fellowship-trained anesthesiologist and a pain management specialist who remains dedicated to using a multimodal approach to pain management to provide outstanding care for his patients. In 2018, he and Dr. Adam Wallace founded The Spine and Pain Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Spine and Pain Center is the best pain management clinic for effective pain-relieving treatments in Oklahoma. The clinic offers patients a comprehensive range of treatments and diagnostics, and both doctors working there specialize in providing healing factor therapy, PRP therapy, and stem cell therapy to suit each patient’s specific needs.
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Dr. Torgerson graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma. From there, he earned his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in anesthesiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and Baptist Health System.
Following his residency, he was chosen for one of the most prestigious pain management fellowships at The Internal Pain Institute of Texas Tech University. There, he worked under the tutelage of Dr. Gabor Racz, one of the most accomplished and respected interventional pain management physicians in the world.
Among the doctor’s many achievements, he is a member of the Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists. He is also board-certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the mission of the ABA is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.
Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure and temperature, anesthesiologists also measure the patient’s respiration. Pain medicine is a medical specialty that focuses on the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of pain.
In his free time, Dr. Torgerson enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, traveling, staying active, and coaching his daughter’s basketball team.
