Born in Albany, New York, Dr. Niazi completed his undergraduate education at Dartmouth College. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and completed his residency in internal medicine at North Shore University Hospital. He then went on to complete his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, before returning to North Shore University Hospital for his fellowship in interventional cardiology.
Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear medicine, vascular ultrasound, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
