I am a board-certified Family Medicine physician with hospital-focused practice who is dedicated to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based, and compassionate medical care to hospitalized adult patients at Michigan Medicine. Beyond managing and treating a breadth of complex and comorbid disease conditions, I regularly engage in teaching, research, and systems-based quality improvement efforts; serve as a deputy editor for ACP Hospitalist Brief Case, peer reviewer for the Journal of Hospital Medicine, University of Michigan Road Scholar (2023), and have received numerous (twenty-six) Making a Difference’ Awards and Top Hospitalist recognition by Best in Michigan Magazine (2023) since my academic appointment in July 2021.

With a solid educational background, Dr. Ayotte earned his Medical Degree from Central Michigan University College of Medicine, where the foundation of his medical expertise was laid. This was followed by a rigorous and enlightening residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in the field of family medicine, culminating in 2020. Subsequently, his remarkable journey continued with a fellowship at Mayo Clinic, focusing on hospital medicine, which was successfully completed in 2021.
Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.
Professionally certified and well-prepared to deliver healthcare of the highest standard, Dr. Ayotte’s qualifications include the ACLS Healthcare Provider and BLS Healthcare Provider credentials, both accredited by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. Moreover, he holds a Medication Assisted Therapy Waiver issued by the American Association of Addiction Psychiatry, which was attained in August 2020.
