Thank you for your email. Yes, insomnia can be serious if it becomes a chronic problem. Chronic insomnia is defined as 3 or more nights per week for 3 or more months. Chronic insomnia can be associated to coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer. There are many sleep aids out there and acupuncture has been known to be helpful in this area as well. Hi! Im sorry youve been dealing with restless leg syndrome. Acupuncture can be helpful with regulating the autonomic nervous system. Basically, this means it can assist the body from a state of fight or flight (sympathetic nervous system) to a state of rest and digest (parasympathetic nervous system). If the RLS is caused by an inability to fully transition to the parasympathetic nervous system then acupuncture may prove effective. Hello! I treat many patients for Tinnitus and have had mixed success. Some patients conditions improve and some do not.
