Being a specialty-trained physiatrist, Dr. Staneata specializes in the nonsurgical treatment of conditions and injuries of the spine. She is in practice with Cape Fear Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, providing services throughout the areas surrounding Fayetteville and Raeford, North Carolina.

Since 1973, the doctors and physical therapists at Cape Fear Orthopedics & Sports Medicine have remained the experts in providing exceptional, experienced orthopedic care. From surgery to physical therapy to urgent care, they can help get the body back on the right track to make each patient feel great again.

Back in 2004, Dr. Staneata earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Târgu Mureș in Romania. There, she also completed 2 years of residency in orthopedics and trauma. Upon relocating to the United States, she went on to complete her Internship and Residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine, becoming Chief Resident in July of 2012. Her fellowship in Interventional Spine & Pain management was completed at OrthoCarolina in Winston Salem, North Carolina. 

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, also known as Physiatry and physiatrics, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. Physiatrists treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. 

In her free time, Dr. Staneata enjoys classic literature and world history, as well as jogging, participating in outdoor activities, and traveling with her family.
