OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW: Non-Invasive Prepless VeneersI am a realist, therefore I know that when “Porcelain Veneers” is brought up in any conversation, many people’s nose crinkles, eyebrows fold inward or straight up, lips quiver, and head starts to shake left and right.Honestly, I...
Implants and retainers
Hey, Happy Thursday! It depends…I would speak with your doctor and discuss this. To truly answer your question, based on your current situation, - Yes, I would recommend new retainers after the implants are place and restored with implant crowns. Since the implants were not placed during your ortho treatment, I recommend you proceed with getting retainers solely because maintaining your post-ortho alignment is very important. You don’t want any teeth to shift or move while you wait for you implant and implant crown. I would recommend, after you have your implants placed and implant crowns restored that you have your dentist make you an ‘occlusal guard’ for that arch with the implants. The occlusal guard with provide more protection to your teeth and implants and maintain you teeth position. I hope that helped. Good luck! READ MORE

How long do veneers last on front teeth?
Hello, I hope you are doing well! Great question. There are a couple factors that will determine the longevity of your veneers: 1. How frequently you go to your dentist for hygiene check ups and cleanings. 2. How is your home care - If you are not properly brushing or flossing at home cavities can cause the seal of the veneer to your tooth to weaken. Gum inflammation can also cause the seal of the veneer to tooth to weaken. If the seal weakens then the veneers need to be replaced so that cavities are removed and to prevent sensitivity. 3. Dentist protocol for cementing the veneers to your teeth - normally not a big factor that will deter the longevity of the veneers. All in all! As along as you take care of your investment they will last a long time anywhere from 5-20+ years! In the end the longevity if up to you :) I hope that helps! Xoxo Dr. Schick READ MORE
