A dedicated pediatric dentist, Dr. Houshiar tends to patients at her private practice – Mona Dental for Kids – in Spring, Texas. In 2009, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Following this accomplishment, she pursued a two-year general dentistry residency at the VA West Los Angeles Healthcare Center, enhancing her skills and knowledge. Finally, she undertook postdoctoral residency training at the University of Connecticut, earning her certificate in pediatric dentistry.

A firm believer in the continual pursuit of knowledge, Dr. Houshiar remains at the forefront of her field. Actively participating in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association, she attends various seminars and courses to stay abreast of the latest advancements in pediatric dental technology.

Pediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry dealing with children from birth through adolescence. The Pediatric dentist has an extra two to three years of specialized training after dental school and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years. Children of different age groups need different approaches in dealing with their behavior guiding their dental growth and development, as well as helping them avoid future dental problems. Originating from Oklahoma City, Dr. Houshiar grew up in Tehran, Iran. Her journey led her through diverse cities like Vancouver, Los Angeles, and West Hartford before finding her home in Houston. Outside her professional commitments, she engages in a variety of interests. Driven by a passion for travel, she explores new destinations, maintaining an active lifestyle through fitness activities and tennis. Her artistic pursuits include playing the piano, complementing her appreciation for diverse international cuisines.
