A seasoned ophthalmologist and retina specialist, Dr. Moinfar is affiliated with Florida Retina Consultants, working with patients in the Orlando, Lake Mary, Lakeland, Winter Haven, Zephyrhills areas. As such, he treats and performs eye surgery on patients with macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, macular holes, floaters, macular puckers/epiretinal membranes, and eye trauma.

Originally from Northern Virginia, he completed his undergraduate studies in Philosophy and Biology at Georgetown University and obtained his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia. He returned to Georgetown University, where he completed his internship and residency at Georgetown University Medical Center, and met his wife of 20 years, Brenda.
Following residency, Dr. Moinfar completed his fellowship in medical and surgical retina & uveitis at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute of the University of California, Irvine. To completely round out his education, he earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Johns Hopkins University.
An authority in his field, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.
Maintaining fellowship status, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists (FASRS).
