Dr. Smith is a triple board certified cardiologist with Tyler Cardiovascular Consultants. Namely, he practices out of the following locations: UT Health East Texas Cardiac Plaza in Tyler, UT Health East Texas Physicians Quitman – Cardiology, UT Health Quitman, and UT Health Tyler.

Formed in 2018 through the combination of East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System (ETMC) and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler (UT Health Northeast), UT Health East Texas provides care to thousands of patients each year through its extensive regional network of hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, freestanding emergency centers, urgent care facilities, and other locations. The hospital system is passionate about delivering the highest quality care with unmatched compassion, outstanding service, and innovative technology. 

Having graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Houston, Dr. Smith proceeded to achieve his Medical Degree from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, where he earned the distinction of valedictorian. 

Expanding his expertise, he completed his internship and residency at Baylor University Medical Center, pursued a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Oklahoma, and furthered his specialization with an additional fellowship in interventional cardiology at Baylor University Medical Center.

Triple board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and nuclear medicine, Dr. Smith is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Dr. Smith is a member of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, the Smith County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association.
