Get to know Family Physician Dr. Naomi Brown, who serves patients in Summerville, Georgia.

Dr. Brown is a board certified primary care physician who cares for patients age 1 year and older at Atrium Health Floyd Primary Care Family Medicine Summerville. Her clinical interests include pediatrics, women’s health, and chronic medical conditions. 

“I’m big on forming relationships and big on family, and I just feel like when you live in a small town, you kind of just get all of that in one place. So, I think when I first visited, I just I don’t know, for some reason I just instantly fell in love with the small community. I love that everyone kind of knows everyone.”

Beginning her academic pursuit, Dr. Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Concordia University in Montréal, Québec. Following this, she embarked on her medical training at Ross University School of Medicine, Dominica, West Indies, ultimately attaining the prestigious Doctor of Medicine Degree. 

Her journey culminated in a residency at WellStar Atlanta Medical Center, where she honed her skills and expertise in the medical field.

Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Brown is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Additionally, she is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with her family, including her toddler daughter, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
