Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Stephanie McNamara, who serves patients in Miami, Florida.

Dr. McNamara is a dedicated dermatologist who specializes in dermatologic surgery, as well as skin cancer prevention and treatment. She is a valuable addition to the team at Riverchase Dermatology in Miami, Florida.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Miami, a Master of Business Administration Degree from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, and a Doctor of Medicine Degree from Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. 

During her residency in dermatology at Broward General Medical Center/ Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Dr. McNamara conducted free skin cancer screenings for the local community and her efforts led to the identification of several melanomas. Witnessing her patients smile and laugh fills her with immense satisfaction, as it demonstrates that she is making a profound difference in their lives.

Board certified in dermatology, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body. Dermatology is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.

With her broad knowledge in general dermatology, pediatric dermatology, dermatological surgery, and cosmetic dermatology, Dr. McNamara is an accomplished and asset to the profession. On a professional level, Dr. McNamara is an esteemed member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Florida Academy of Dermatology, and the University of Miami Alumni Association.

Outside of the office, Dr. McNamara likes to spend her free time cooking, playing tennis, running, and enjoying outdoor activities with her family. She also loves traveling and exploring the diverse and fascinating cultures around the world. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
