Get to know Aerospace Medicine Specialist Dr. Auren Weinberg, who serves patients in Florida.
A seasoned aerospace medicine specialist, Dr. Weinberg is the Chief Medical Officer of Veradigm, an integrated data systems and services company that combines data-driven clinical insights with actionable tools to help healthcare stakeholders improve the quality, efficiency, and value of healthcare delivery.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Weinberg received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Haverford College, where he laid the foundation for a career dedicated to the well-being of others. His commitment to medical excellence continued with his pursuit of a Doctor of Medicine degree, with honors, at the University of Rochester School of Medicine.
Following his academic success, he embarked on a transformative phase of his career by completing his residency at the prestigious Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he also served as Chief Resident.
With the knowledge and expertise gained during his residency, Dr. Weinberg made a significant impact on the healthcare landscape by establishing his own private practice. What began as a single physician’s endeavor soon burgeoned into a thriving medical facility with over 10,000 patients under his care. His practice distinguished itself by offering a truly comprehensive approach to healthcare. It was the first in the area to incorporate mental health care, nutrition counseling, and exercise classes as integral components of patient well-being.
Under his leadership, his practice achieved Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home certification, a testament to its unwavering commitment to providing patient-centric, high-quality care. This achievement set a precedent in the area, reinforcing his reputation as a trailblazer in healthcare management and service delivery.
Not content with revolutionizing healthcare at the individual practice level, Dr. Weinberg co-founded an Independent Physicians Association. This organization aimed to empower privately owned practices in achieving the quadruple aim of healthcare: better outcomes, better care, lower costs, and higher staff satisfaction. Through regular practice meetings and collaborative efforts, improved contracts with payers, and the establishment of a Managed Service Organization, this collective of practices evolved into a highly successful Accountable Care Organization.
With a determination to broaden his impact and strengthen his leadership capabilities, he pursued and obtained his Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from the Fox School of Business, earning the prestigious Dean’s Certificate of Excellence. His impressive career path continued as he assumed the role of Chief Medical Officer at a statewide health plan, and later, as Regional Chief Medical Officer of a national care provider organization.
Beyond his professional life, Dr. Weinberg is also a passionate aviation enthusiast. He dedicates his spare time to serving as a HIMS Trained Senior Aviation Medical Examiner for Aviation Medicine in Florida, ensuring that pilots are in optimal health to guarantee safe flights.
