Get to know Registered Nurse Leader, Wendy Ferro-Grant, who serves patients throughout the State of California.

Wendy, a registered nurse, serves as the Corporate Director of Perioperative Services at Emanate Health Queen of the Valley Hospital.

A servant leader with experience in non-profit community hospitals, Magnet Designated and Level II Trauma organizations. Her focus revolves around health-care strategic development, national patient safety initiatives, business development, and the development of sterile processing/high-level disinfection programs. Wendy excels in cultivating an efficient value-added healthcare delivery model, showcasing robust human resource management skills. She demonstrates effective clinical and operational leadership aptitude, including the development of leadership teams, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and a commitment to program development and enhancing operational efficiencies.

Scholastically, Wendy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and  Master of Science Degree in Nursing, and a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Phoenix. 

On a professional level, she is an active member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses, which represents more than 41,000 registered nurses in the United States and abroad who facilitate the management, teaching, and practice of perioperative nursing, or who are enrolled in nursing education or engaged in perioperative research. And the American Nurses Association, advancing the nursing profession through activism, nursing practice and policy, research and education.

Prior to her current role at Emanate Health Queen of the Valley Hospital, Wendy worked as a healthcare consultant and principal specialist at Applied Medical, supporting the development of surgical products that promote access to high quality affordable care. Before that, she served as the Executive Director of Perioperative Services at Mission Hospital Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach, strategically leading a dynamic surgical services. 

A registered nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. Their primary role is as a patient advocate, treating and caring for patients. Responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
