Marjorie earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Brandeis University and later pursued her Master's degree in Health Systems from Boston University School of Public Health. Her passion for continuous learning has led her to currently work towards her PhD in Public Service Leadership/Healthcare Administration, with a specific focus on telemedicine. In addition to her professional pursuits, Marjorie actively volunteers with the local school district and shares her musical talents as a member of the Phoenix Symphony and Arizona MusicFest Choruses.
Since 2003, Marjorie has been deeply involved in the field of Telemedicine. During her tenure at Maricopa County Correctional Health Services, she played a pivotal role in the construction of two new jail facilities and the implementation of telemedicine across the entire jail system. The success of this project was showcased at the 2005 and 2009 Annual Meetings of the American Telemedicine Association, as well as the 2009 ACHE Congress on Healthcare Leadership. Subsequently, she joined MIHS in Ambulatory Primary and Specialty Care Services and Fresenius Kidney Care, where she directed dialysis clinics in Central and Southeastern Arizona. Marjorie continued to hold leadership positions in the ambulatory care sector, including working closely with Vice President Biden on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Additionally, she has served on the advisory boards of several university healthcare programs, further demonstrating her commitment to the advancement of the field.
Marjorie's professional accomplishments have earned her recognition and affiliations with esteemed organizations. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Pennsylvania Telemedicine Council, and American Telemedicine Association. Early in her career, prior to pursuing her graduate studies, Marjorie had the privilege of being mentored by a thoracic surgeon who instilled in her the importance of treating patients as whole individuals, rather than mere symptoms or body parts. This valuable lesson has remained with her throughout her career, shaping her approach to patient care with kindness and compassion.
