  • Dr Arumairaj also serves as director of resident research in the Internal medicine residency program based at New York medical College/Metropolitan in addition to his role as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine. He gives lectures to residents and medical students on clinical topics and clinical research.

Areas of research

Dr Arumairaj has undertaken Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY) IRB approved research projects and large database based research in Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine. His main areas of research include sepsis, septic shock, COVID-19 infection, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), tuberculosis and pulmonary infections. Dr Arumairaj has taken extensive research based on national inpatient sample analysis investigating national trends across USA.

In the U.S., Dr. Arumairaj further established his career, serving as a Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College for four years before his current position at NYC Health + Hospitals.
