About

About me
Welcome! I’m Katia Garcia, a Board Certified Psych Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in healthcare. I bring a unique perspective to my practice, not just from my clinical experience but also from my personal journey. I immigrated to Los Angeles from El Salvador at the age of six, raised in South Central LA by a single mother in a low socioeconomic neighborhood. My personal experiences with loss, trauma, and the challenges of navigating a new country have deeply influenced my approach to care. I understand the profound impact that life’s challenges can have on mental health, and I’m committed to providing care that is compassionate, non-judgmental, grounded in real-life experience and personalized to your needs.

Your journey to wellness begins with compassionate, personalized care tailored for your needs. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, or the challenges of addiction, I’m here to help you find balance and peace by developing a treatment plan that nurtures your mind, body, and spirit, empowering you to reclaim happiness in your life!

Practice description
My approach to treatment is integrative and individualized. I believe in treating the person, not just the diagnosis. Every individual is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. That’s why I use a variety of approaches in my practice, including medication management, nutritional supplementation, guided meditation, lifestyle coaching, and talk therapy such as Motivational Interviewing. I specialize in addiction and substance abuse. I am committed to helping my patients regain their emotional balance by creating a treatment plan that encompasses the mind, body, and spirit.
