Get to know Plastic Surgeon Dr. Henry F. Garazo, who serves patients in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Dr. Garazo, an established board-certified plastic surgeon, has been providing excellent care and results to patients in the greater Maryland area for over two decades. He is known for his thorough, expert, and friendly care, and patients benefit from his low-pressure, kind bedside manner. 

A native of Hagerstown, Maryland, Dr. Garazo returned in 1997 to become partners with Dr. Michael Hall at Plastic Surgery Services, originally founded in 1961 by Dr. John Clark. He prides himself on offering a variety of popular cosmetic procedures, including Hagerstown breast augmentation, as well as comprehensive, informative consultations where every patient always meets personally with him. Whether he is helping a patient try on breast implants before breast augmentation or ensuring flowers are ready for patients on their follow-up visit, he takes a personal approach to his practice.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Garazo attended North Hagerstown High School, where he graduated with honors and was presented with a Maryland Distinguished Scholar Award (for graduating in the top 5% of the State of Maryland). He went on to earn his medical degree from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his residency in general surgery at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He completed his residency in plastic surgery at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics, in Augusta, Georgia.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, whose mission is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists. He is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the John Staige Davis Society of the Plastic Surgeons of Maryland.

In the past, Dr. Garazo was the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Washington County Hospital. He now serves on the consulting staff for both Chambersburg Hospital and Waynesboro Hospital. He also fills the role of Medical Advisor for Cumberland Valley Breast Cancer Awareness.

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two main categories – reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. A plastic surgeon’s primary responsibility is performing surgical and non-surgical procedures, and they use a variety of reparative and reconstructive techniques to get the job done.

With a strong commitment to excellence in plastic surgery, Dr. Garazo has been listed in Vogue, Glamour, Allure, and Self magazines as one of the “Outstanding Plastic Surgeons in Maryland” and has been honored as one of “America’s Top Plastic Surgeons” for eight consecutive years. He was among a select few to have earned this prestigious recognition by the Consumer Research Council of America and is named in the 2009 to 2016 editions of the “Guide to America’s Top Surgeons.”
