Dr. Naseer is a highly-trained gastroenterologist with OSF Medical Group – Gastroenterology in Alton, Illinois. He provides compassionate care to the community with utmost respect and thoughtfulness, regardless of social status, gender, belief and ability to pay.

Dr. Nasser brings more than three decades of experience in gastroenterology consultative and endoscopic procedures, caring for patients with reflux, esophageal problems, stomach ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, liver and gallbladder-related problems, including hepatitis; and all other abdominal diseases.

He believes in the value of a good education. It’s something his parents instilled in him at a very young age, and it drove him to pursue medicine. “My family and teachers guided me to choose a career that best suited my temperament. I am truly glad for what I do every day – providing care to those who need it.”

Educated in Pakistan, Dr. Naseer graduated with his Medical Degree from Dow Medical College in 1982. Subsequently, he completed an internship at Civil Hospital Karachi in 1983. 

Continuing his medical training in the United States, Dr. Naseer underwent a residency in internal medicine at Interfaith Medical Center in 1989, followed by a residency in cardiovascular disease-cardiology at the University of California, Davis in 1990. His academic pursuits culminated in a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 1993.

That same year, he attained board certification in gastroenterology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

Happily married with four children, Dr. Naseer enjoys reading philosophy, traveling the country, listening to music, and playing golf.
