Recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (FAAOS), she is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Among her professional affiliations, Dr. Chilaka is an active member of the Orthopedic Trauma Association, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Following her training, she worked for several years at Yale New Haven Hospital, a busy level 1 trauma center in Connecticut. She joined the medical staff of UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center in 2017, and started the Osteoporosis Clinic in 2019.
