Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Martin C. Wilson, who serves patients in Pennsylvania.

With over 29 years of experience in his field, Dr. Wilson is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a special interest in pediatric ophthalmology. He is currently serving patients at Pediatric Eye Physicians & Surgeons in Paoli, Pennsylvania.

He is also affiliated with the Wills Eye Surgery Center in Plymouth Meeting located in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Opened in September of 1996, the Center serves the largest geographical area of any of the Wills Eye Surgery Centers in Pennsylvania. The marvelous support staff has coordinated the transport of patients from as far south as Lower Delaware County and as far west as Reading.

In 1990, Dr. Wilson earned his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then went on to complete his residency in ophthalmology at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, followed by his fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Thereafter, the doctor became board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.
