“I chose obstetrics and gynecology because I am passionate about women’s health. A woman’s physical, mental and emotional well-being are all intertwined, and if one part is off, it affects the others. To me, a woman’s menstrual cycle is a vital sign. I love helping girls navigate puberty, preparing women for pregnancy, helping differentiate between normal and abnormal uterine bleeding throughout the aging process, and helping all women feel confident about their bodies. I feel lucky to get to talk to women every day about their bodies, minds and overall health” expressed the doctor.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Stone graduated with her medical degree from East Carolina University in 2008, before completing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2012.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
