A native of India, he obtained his medical degree from the MS Ramaiah Medical College in 1993. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Long Island College Hospital in 1998. Finally, he completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the same educational venue in 2001.
