Get to know Physiatrist and Geriatrician Dr. Tha Cha, who serves patients in Fresno, California.

Dr. Cha is a well-versed physiatrist, geriatrician and practicing shaman. He works at Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, California.

Locally, he is affiliated with Kaweah Health Medical Center, San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital, and Community Regional Medical Center.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Cha graduated with his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in 2000. He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at Kern Medical Center in 2004.

Furthering his training, he completed his fellowship in geriatric medicine and his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at UCLA Medical Center in 2005 and 2009, respectively. 

With over two decades of experience, the doctor is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is accomplished through a process of certification and maintenance of certification that fosters excellence and encourages continuous learning.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, also known as physiatry and physiatrics, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. Physiatrists treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. 

Geriatrics, or geriatric medicine, is a medical specialty focused on providing care for the unique health needs of older adults. A geriatrician is a physician who specializes in the care of elderly people.

On a more personal note, Dr. Cha speaks multiple languages, including English, Hmong, and Spanish.
