Can you harvest eggs after a hysterectomy?
Sorry to hear about the difficult news. If the cancer is limited to one ovary, it might be reasonable to just remove one ovary and leave the other ovary and uterus. That would be an important conversation with your gyn oncologist. If they leave the uterus, you can do future egg donor, even if both ovaries are removed. If both ovaries are removed, no eggs can be obtained. A lot of this depends on the type of cancer and extent of spread to other areas. You really need to have a serious urgent talk with your oncologist. Best regards, Daniel Levine, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. READ MORE

Short urethra in women, more prone to UTI. May want to touch base with a urologist, there are some additional tests that can be helpful. Hope this helps. Daniel Levine, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. READ MORE
How long should one wait after c-section to get pregnant?
Important to re-establish menstrual cycles prior to another pregnancy. Also, need to factor in breast feeding. I would say three months would be reasonable before another attempt after delivery. Daniel Levine, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. READ MORE
Is pregnancy possible after chemotherapy?
Yes, pregnancy is certainly possible after chemotherapy. The main issue is induction of menopause or premature ovarian failure after chemotherapy. The younger the woman is at the time of chemo, however, the more likely she is to recover her ovarian function and have a baby after chemotherapy. Even with permanent ovarian failure after chemo, we can still achieve excellent pregnancy rates using In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with an egg donor. As with any medical treatment, there are always risks and benefits- the essential issue to explore all the possibilities and come up with an individualized treatment plan to maximize success. Hope this helps-please call if you would like to set up a time to discuss this further. Sincerely, Daniel Levine, MD READ MORE
