In regards to his educational background, he graduated from The University of Texas Pan-American in Edinburg, Texas and received his medical training from both the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and New York Medical College. He completed his residency in obstetrics & gynecology and women’s health at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine / Montefiore Medical Center in New York.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Luna joined Plaza OB/GYN Associates at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. In August of 2015, he moved to McAllen and is now serving the Rio Grande Valley community. His extensive and cutting edge training and medical career in New York and Houston providing exceptional medical care to diverse communities has made him an asset to the Rio Grande Valley.
With years of experience, he is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
