Dr. Phipps, a board-certified podiatrist, is the Founder of Catoctin Foot and Ankle Center in Leesburg, Virginia. He enjoys interacting with patients of all ages and his specialties include deformity correction and sports-related injuries. 

At Catoctin Foot and Ankle Center, Dr. Phipps is committed to providing patients and their families with state-of-the-art and up-to-date conservative and surgical foot and ankle care. He believes that informed patients are better prepared to make decisions regarding their health and well-being. He takes time to diagnose, explain, and treat conditions, as well as to individualize treatments to each patient based on lifestyle and other factors. He is also experienced in all aspects of wound care and currently participates with the Inova Loudoun Hospital Wound Care Center.

Growing up in Loudoun County, Dr. Phipps received his Bachelor of Education degree with focuses in Chemistry and Spanish from Utah State University. While attending university, he had the opportunity to spend two years of service in Panama, where he became fluent in Spanish. He then went on to receive his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center, where he worked with both religious and community organizations such as the Special Olympics and spent a year at multiple hospitals around the United States training under some of the most well-known orthopedic and podiatric physicians. Upon graduation, he completed a three-year surgical residency at Community Medical Center in Scranton, where he received extensive medical and surgical training and served as chief resident.

During his residency, Dr. Phipps became highly trained both clinically and surgically in the forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction, limb salvage, sports medicine, pediatrics, and trauma. He also had the opportunity to train at the renowned Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics and the International Center for Limb Lengthening in Baltimore, where he studied deformity correction under well-known orthopedic surgeon John Herzenburg, MD. 

An Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, whose mission is to protect and improve the health and welfare of the public by the advancement of the art and science of podiatric surgery. He is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association. 

Podiatry is a branch of medicine devoted to the study, diagnosis, and medical and surgical treatment of a variety of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. A podiatrist, also known as a podiatric physician or a foot and ankle surgeon, is a medical professional devoted to the treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. Very involved with the community, Dr. Phipps actively volunteers with various organizations. He is an Eagle Scout and enjoys working with the youth.
