He served his internship and residency at Montefiore Hospital – Albert Einstein Medical Center in New York, after which he became an Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery. He also serves as the Medical Director at the Touro University Physician Assistant School.
Bringing a vast wealth of experience and knowledge to his field, he is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Gerut is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Medical Society of the State of New York, and the Nassau County Medical Society.
