Get to know Family Physician Dr. Rae Ann Adams, who serves patients in Bryan, Texas.

Dr. Adams is a dedicated family physician at Texas A&M Health Family Care, delivering high-quality, compassionate care to Bryan and nearby communities. Specializing in treating every member of the family, she provides routine physicals for adults and children and cares for chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, and heart disease. 

“I chose family medicine because it affords me the capacity to care for patients and families from birth to death and every step in between” expressed the doctor. 

Texas A&M Health Family Care brings the expertise of Texas A&M College of Medicine primary care to the heart of family’s health needs. From colds and fractures to preventive primary care that keeps patients healthy and living their best possible life, Texas A&M Health Family Care puts care first. Offering comprehensive care for patients of all ages, appointments can be made in advance for physicals, vaccinations or well-child visits, or to treat chronic health issues like asthma, heart disease and diabetes. 

Born and raised in Comanche, Dr. Adams attended Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Science degree in 2003. She received her medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine in 2008 and completed her residency in family medicine at Texas A&M Health Science Center in 2011.

With a commitment to excellence, she is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), which is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Teaching the next generation of family medicine physicians, Dr. Adams serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor within the Department of Primary Care and Population Health at Texas A&M College of Medicine & as the Program Director of the Texas A&M Family Medicine Residency. Her teaching interests include high-risk and operative obstetrics, women’s health, hysteroscopy and ESSURE procedure, and international medical missions.

Named one of the Texas Super Doctors Rising Stars by Texas Monthly Magazine, she is affiliated with CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital & St. Joseph Medical Center.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. 

On a more personal note, Dr. Adams is married with two children. She enjoys all sports (playing, watching, and coaching), cooking, movie nights, and spending time with family and friends.
