Dr. Nicholas Romas is a clinical professor at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, the clinical, research, and educational enterprise in Northern Manhattan. Prior to joining Columbia, he was the Chairman of Urology at St. Luke's Hospital for 30 years. 

In private practice for over four decades, Dr. Romas’ clinical expertise is in general urology, stone disease, and urological oncology. He provides compassionate care, diagnosis, and treatment of urology disorders and cancers, especially early detection and treatment of prostate cancer. He focuses on the urinary tract including the kidneys, ureter, urethra, and bladder, and for men, the prostate.

In regards to his education, Dr. Romas earned his medical degree from the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, which is one of the nation's leading academic medical centers, located in New York City. 

To stay up to date in his field, Dr. Romas is a member of the American Medical Association, New York State and County Medical Society and the American Urological Association. He also sits on the American College of Surgeons Admissions Committee. 

Additionally, Dr. Romas is an expert in the research efforts in Urology and its most effective treatment advances. He rose to prominence in his field and contributed to many scientific journals, and has authored many articles, editorials, and book chapters. 

The recipient of numerous awards and accolades, Dr. Nicholas Romas was named American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association’s ‘Man of the Year’ with its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017 for his dedication to his profession, service to humanity and guidance and care. 

As a urologist, Dr. Romas focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of bladder or prostate cancer, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and other genitourinary disorders.

The married father of three daughters, Dr. Romas also has ten grandchildren.
