How long does it take to clear up the pink eye with drops?
Hi, I hope you have seen an eye care professional for this. It is difficult to say as I don’t know what type of conjunctivitis you have or what type of drops you are taking. You should take drops until all signs of the pink eye are clear if you have the correct drops. READ MORE
Bump on eyelid
Hi there. That bumper looks like your lachrymal gland has prolapsed forward. I am thinking you should see an oculoplastic surgeon who can diagnose this for sure. They would be the ones most well-equipped to make sure the proper diagnosis is obtained. Do you know how to find someone like that? I have no idea where you live. Dr. Sheri Rowen. READ MORE

Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Sheri L. Rowen, who serves patients in Newport Beach, California.
A world-renowned eye surgeon, Dr. Rowen is the Founder of Rowen Vision & Cosmetic Center in Newport Beach, California. She and her staff offer advanced eye care and a wide selection of cosmetic procedures designed to rejuvenate the face and body, including microdermabrasion, blepharoplasty, and Botox.
Renowned for her expertise as a Newport Beach LASIK surgeon and cataract surgery specialist, she has helped many patients obtain excellent vision without glasses or contacts. She has also corrected the vision of thousands of patients with the latest ophthalmic technology, and is a Crystalens, ReSTOR, and TECNIS Multifocal specialist.
After being one of the first ophthalmologists in the nation to offer “instant vision” surgery, Dr. Rowen gained a worldwide reputation in her field. This technique replaced traditional needle injection anesthesia with drops and uses painless micro incisions that heal without stitches or patches. She also became the first physician to offer the earliest FDA-approved accommodating lens. Her continuing interest in the topic of lens implants prompted her to serve as one of ten investigators in a national study investigating the use of implantable contact lenses, beginning in 1997.
Having been performing laser eye surgery since 1996, Dr. Rowen has performed over 10,000 procedures, now with an enhancement rate of only 3%, far below the national average. She features the ALLEGRETTO WAVE™ laser, the fastest refractive laser available in the United States. Because it provides superior clinical results, she now utilizes it for advanced laser eye surgery at her practice.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Rowen earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, graduating Cum Laude with Phi Beta Kappa honors. She completed her surgical internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, along with a two-year research fellowship at the Hospital’s prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute. She then served as a Research Assistant for the National Institute of Health and the National Cancer Institute. She later completed a three-year residency in ophthalmology with the University of Maryland.
Staying up to date on all of the latest advances in ophthalmology and cosmetic procedures, she is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The ABO is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), she is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
With a reputation for quality eye care, Dr. Rowen has served as a Clinical Instructor at Johns Hopkins Hospital, as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland, and on the Board of Trustees for the International Society of Cosmetic Laser Systems.
Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, retinal, and corneal surgery.
Considered a leading cosmetic surgeon and ophthalmologist, Dr. Rowen lectures both nationally and internationally, and is widely respected in the communities. She has served as Principal Investigator for numerous FDA trials and continues this research in her current role as Medical Director at NVISION Eye Centers.
She consults for multiple strategic companies advising them on how to construct new technologies for eye health and surgeries. She is very active in helping to pave the way for new innovations coming to market and serves as an advisor on several medical and scientific advisory boards.
