Dr. Wayne S. Harrison, a native of Ballston Spa, received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with Honors from Hartwick College, where he was a member of the track team and Honor Society.

Dr. Harrison received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Stony Brook University’s School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Harrison received honors in Periodontics, Endodontics, and Operative Dentistry. He completed a one-year General Practice Residency in Dentistry and served one year as Senior Dental Resident at St. Clare’s Hospital. He has practiced in the Capital Region for over 30 years.

Dr. Harrison has been dedicated to providing excellent dental care for his patients by continuing his education. After completing 500 hours of continuing education as well as his fellowship examination, he was awarded Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1987.

Dr. Harrison’s professional memberships include the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the New York Dental Association, Fellow ICOI, IAO, and the Fourth District Dental Society. Dr. Harrison served for two years as President of the local Fourth District Dental Society and has been a member of several committees, including serving as Chairman of Continuing Education. Dr. Harrison has published articles in the Journal of the American Dental Association and General Dentistry.

Dr. Harrison first started doing community outreach when he was a member of the faculty at the University of Connecticut Dental School in 2006. Since that time, he has made five mission trips to Jinga, Uganda in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2018 and each of his three kids have accompanied him on at least one of these trips.  When students and staff from Jinga come to the US for fundraising trips, Harrison Family Dentists provides them with the dental care they need.
