Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Ifeyinwa P.N. Onwudiwe, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Onwudiwe is a pediatrician who is currently serving patients at La Providence Pediatric Clinics in Houston, Texas. She is the Founder and Director of this bustling ambulatory clinic located in South West, Houston, Texas and La Providence Medical Center located in the North Houston Area. The goal of La Providence Clinics is to meet the healthcare needs of children and their families. At La Providence Clinics, the needs of the children and their families are our priority. Our practice provides a unique and comprehensive approach to pediatric medicine.  

Dr. Onwudiwe is affiliated with Texas Children’s Hospital – a pediatric hospital located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. With 639 licensed beds and 465 beds in operation, it is the largest children’s hospital in the United States. The mission of the Texas Children’s Hospital is to create a healthier future for children and women throughout their global community by leading in patient care, education, and research.

Dr. Onwudiwe is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). Founded in 1933, the ABP is one of the 24 certifying boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). The ABP is an independent, nonprofit organization whose certificate is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence.

Dr. Onwudiwe incorporates up-to-date educational knowledge and evidence-based medicine in her practice of pediatrics. She believes in working attentively with children and their families.

Dr. Onwudiwe received her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Nigeria Faculty of Medicine in Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Enugu in Ituku, Nigeria. Upon relocating to the United States, Dr. Onwudiwe completed her residency in pediatrics at the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Afterward, she went for her fellowship training in child neurology at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Onwudiwe is a member of the Texas Pediatric Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Child Neurology Society, and the American Academy of Neurology.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. As a pediatrician, Dr. Onwudiwe examines, diagnoses, and treats children of all ages with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses. She enjoys taking care of them and attending to their health needs.
