Ashraf E. Mohamed, MD, works at the University Pain Clinic in Detroit, Michigan. - Dr. Mohamed is a Board Certified Neurologist who also completed his Fellowships in Electromyography and Anesthesiology Pain Medicine through Wayne State School of Medicine/DMC and holds dual appointments through Wayne State University. He has many years of pain experience specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders and pain related to neurological disease states such as neuropathy, brain and spine disorders.Dr. Mohamed lends his Electromyography expertise by performing EMG and Nerve Conduction Studies at University Pain Clinic where he serves as Director of the Neurophysiology Lab.When he was a young boy he said he wanted to be a doctor, so his father started to treat and talk to him as if he were a doctor. His father passed away when he was 12 years old, but Dr. Mohamed continued on to become a doctor. His mother and children's support also are attributed to his success.Dr. Mohamed is Board Certified in Pain Medicine, 2013 and Board Certified in Headache Medicine, 2012, of which according to the American Headache Society only 500 physicians nationwide have received certification. Headache Medicine is a subspecialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of head and face pain. Its scope includes the diseases or categories of disease causing central and peripheral disturbance of structures or functions causing head and face pain and includes both primary and secondary disturbances of these structures or functions.
