Get to know Radiologist Dr. Brent Alan Barrow, who serves the population of Cleveland, Tennessee. Dr. Barrow is a highly trained and qualified radiologist with a vast expertise in all facets of his work, especially vascular, interventional, and diagnostic radiology. Dr. Barrow has been in practice for over 20 years and is currently serving patients at Vista Radiology in Cleveland, Tennessee, the largest, most highly sub-specialized radiology practice in East Tennessee. Furthermore, Dr. Barrow maintains hospital privileges at Sky Ridge Medical Center. Dr. Barrow attended the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, Tennessee, where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1990. He then served his residency, and was Chief Resident at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, where he also completed his Vascular Interventional Radiology fellowship. Dr. Barrow is certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology, and maintains professional memberships with the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the Tennessee Medical Association, the Chattanooga/Hamilton County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Barrow attributes his success to never being satisfied with the status quo, keeping up with cutting edge technology, and continued education. When he is not assisting patients, Dr. Barrow enjoys cycling and mountain biking. Radiologists, use imaging to gather information about the structure and function of the human body that may be unavailable without surgery. They rely on penetrating radiation, such as X-rays, CT scans, and PET scans to diagnose diseases. They may also employ ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans.
